Personal Description:
I am native French and have been living in England for over 30 years.
I enjoy teaching languages and supporting students in their learning.
I am married with two grown up children. I now spend my time tutoring online and face to face according to the students requests.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching French to Adult learners since1995 at Crawley College.
I taught French to children aged 4 to 11 for 7 years in a primary school and to 11 to 18 years old for a numbers of years but I now focus on private tutoring.
My youngest student is 4 and my oldest student is 85.
I have supported a number of students preparing either their GCSE's or A level French on a one to one basis.
I am happy to teach English as a Foreign Language.
I can teach face to face or online.
Teaching Approach:
I thoroughly enjoy teaching on a one to one basis as one can focus on the individual needs and in most cases help the student reach his/her full potential.
I try and make my lessons fun but filled with activities that will support the learners best and help them achieve their goal.
I am happy to teach online.

OdileFrom Natalie (5/5): I have found Odile to be a very good tutor. She is very friendly, warm and has lots of patience! Part of the class is spent chatting in French and although it seemed daunting at the start we were able to chat for the whole class in French. I found my listening skills improved vastly due to this as well as my speaking. There is home work each week which is great to keep on top of things between classes. I can highly recommend Odile.

I am very happy with my son's result and appreciate Odile's teaching. Odile is very patient to her student. She is methodical and cares about details. She was using websites to enrich the teaching materials to help my son increase interest in French. I highly recommend Odile to others like my son who is struggling with French.

I eventually found Odile online and am so glad I did. I couldn't be happier and I am loving my learning journey. Odile is extremely patient and very thorough. She challenges me just enough to keep me on my toes without overwhelming me. I cannot recommend he highly enough.

From Sam (/5): Odile is a fantastic private tutor, and very adaptable to the specific needs of the person coming to learn - I'm teaching myself most of the grammar, structure and vocabulary etc. as a 3rd language, and come to Odile to practice speaking, listening and conversation. She was great at getting an idea of my level on the first lesson, and adjusting the speed and complexity of how she spoke accordingly so that it was challenging but manageable and encouraging. The sessions with her are very helpful to try and formulate ideas and express them, and she's also sent me some great material to help out such as links to French news channels and interesting things to read. Very good, highly recommended!

She is kind, friendly and patient and has continued to provide encouragement throughout. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking to improve their French language skills.

From Oliver (/5): Many thanks Odile for the lessons. They are fun and interesting, and we always have new things to talk about (and plenty of grammar to learn too!) The lessons are a great way for me, at my level, to talk in French, and listen to French being spoken too. You obviously have a lot of experience in teaching and that means you can correct me and bring in teaching points while we talk, which is a great way to learn i think. Thankyou!!

From Fiona (/5): Odile is a lovely French tutor. She is calm and focused. She is helping my daughter with her gcse French. They work on specific aspects of the exams, but Odlie also makes sure that the basics of the language are understood, so my daughter can be confident in her French after the exam.
The lessons are fun and my daughter enjoys the lessons. All the communication between them whether spoken or written is in French.

I am sure that she would be an excellent teacher for students of any aged and level in the language and in our case prepares materials for lessons to challenge and encourage at the same time.
