Personal Description:

I'm a Chinese and Japanese graduate from Leeds University who has lived and worked out in East Asia, namely Japan, Taiwan and mainland China. My passion is mainly modern Mandarin and, knowing how difficult it can all seem at first, I'd like to help others satisfy their curiosity and succeed in learning what the Foreign and Commonwealth Diplomatic Service deem as 'hard languages'. Truth be told, if I can learn to read newspapers and books, watch TV, navigate my way through China and continue to learn about more about this endlessly fascinating country so can you.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught mainly adults on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Teaching Approach:

First we would discuss attainable goals - general improvement, a refresher course or introduction. Then we would need to work out a timetable and then devise a teaching plan depending on requests made by the student. We should keep the goals realistic and maintain a degree of flexibility along the way.
