Information About Naomi - Ladbroke Grove teacher
This is how 3 referees rated Naomi:
Originally from Sheffield, I have been living in London since 2018. I am a keen linguist, having studied French to degree level, and studied Level 1 Mandarin alongside my MA, as well as being in the process of teaching myself Spanish and Russian. I am a full-time teacher, but play music in my spare time, as well as going to the cinema, the theatre, and to gigs and concerts.
I am currently completing my PGCE and QTS year, and will be a fully qualified teacher by June 2020. I am working full-time in a Central London secondary school. I worked at this school last year, as an unqualified teacher. Prior to this, I studied for an MA in Community Music at the University of York, volunteering and working as a freelance musician and workshop leader during this time. During my degree, I spent 7 months teaching English as a teaching assistant in the South of France.
In private tuition, I start with the goals of the learner in mind. If the learner is learning French for the joy, most lessons will be centred around conversation, or written and listening tasks, tailored to subjects which interest the learner. Where the learner is a GCSE or A Level student, the lessons will be tailored to this; taking the curriculum, finding out what it is that challenges the student within this, and finding ways to tackle these challenges, so that the student can succeed in their exams.
