Personal Description:
I studied languages at university in Aberdeen, have lived in Scotland all my life and am passionate about Scottish Gaelic, traditional music and Gaelic song.Having also worked as a youth worker and as a tour guide I am very much a people person and love connecting with people and inspiring others to follow their own passions
Teaching Experience:
I have taught Gaelic to Beginners through local authority evening classes since 2016 and have taught individual students online since April this year, having developed a comprehensive modular course which takes students progressively through the language.
I have also tutored individual students in French and Swedish!
Teaching Approach:
My approach to teaching is participative and fun and I aim to meet all learning styles by using a range of methods. Students will learn pronunciation, basic grammar, conversation skills, undertake translation and other written exercises and be introduced to Gaelic culture as well as learning through games and simple Gaelic song. Specially recorded sound files back up the lessons and students are also directed to other online resources.
