Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Mirjam. I am an experienced and fully qualified teacher of French and German. I am a native speaker of both French and German as I grew up in France but spoke German at home and went on to study languages at university before deciding to make England my home. I am a mother to three children and enjoy teaching students of all ages.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 10 years of experience teaching languages to 11-17 year olds in Grammar Schools. I have delivered lessons in primary schools. I have tutored students of all ages and abilities, both for conversation and in preparation for exams.

Teaching Approach:

I am warm, approachable, flexible and always tailor my lessons to the specific needs of my students - some want to focus just on conversation whilst others want a robust grammar based approach and I'm happy to teach both types of students. I enjoy using learning games, websites, songs and videos especially with younger learners and frequently use authentic resources such as news articles with adult learners.
