This is how 2 referees rated Mireille:
I am a French native speaker leaving in the UK for the past 4 years. I am curently working in primary schools as a French tutor for children from Year 1 to Year 6 and I have been teaching French to adults for the past 10 years.
I have worked in the Tourism and Leisure business, lived and worked in different countries and apart from French, I am also fluent in English, Greek and comfortable with German.
I teach French to all levels of students, from business French to conversational French and GCSE. My students rank from beginners to intermediate.
It is very important to have the basics of grammar and have the correct approch with the language. However this should not be taken as an unpleasant part of the learning. The grammar will be included in each lesson but the vocabulary and the theme of the session is treated as very important as well… if you are a beginner or an intermediate learner I am making sure that the accent and the pronunciation are right
The essential is motivation. One of my student was Polish with a French partner, another one was offered a position in France and he had 3 months to learn as much as he could. I usually encourage my students to invest in a method that will become our support for the lessons and will help them after class when alone. This way they remember the different exercices and advice I give them during the session.
