Information About Michael - Seaford teacher

Personal Description:

I am French Native from Paris. I have lived in England since 2010. I have a Master's degree in European Law (Reading, University). Before becoming a teacher, I was a freelance poet in education encouraging young people and adults to write poetry and perform it. I studied an MA in Creative Writing and Education at Goldsmiths Uni (with Michael Rosen!). I still use poetry and creativity in my teaching practice. I write poetry in French and in English and I

Teaching Experience:

I have a PGCE in French Teaching of Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form.
I teach in an outstanding school KS4 and KS5.
I have been an examiner for GCSE speaking.
I have worked in a private language school with adults and children (in groups and one-to-one), every thing from conversation, to business and basics.

Teaching Approach:

I think every body can learn a language since most of the world is multilingual! Exposure to the language is key as well as motivation. I will always contextualise grammar, making it relevant and fun with creative games. I believe the communicative method has its place alongside a strong grammar knowledge. I believe in "practice makes perfect", working on all skills (reading, listening, writing, reading and translation), with repetition and patience. I love using authentic resources (press, social media content, radio, youtube, songs, etc… ) as a way to introduce grammar points or cultural aspects of French society. I tailor my teaching to my students' ability, needs and learning styles.
