Personal Description:

Based in Tunbridge Wells, I offer personal tutoring of secondary French up to A-Level and GCSE. I can also tutor English as a Second Language.

Passionate about languages, literature and culture, I hold a First Class Honours degree from Royal Holloway, University of London and received an academic prize for the student with the best record in French Studies.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher of French (up to KS5) and Spanish (up to KS3), completing my PGCE/QTS at University of Exeter in 2014. I have taught in a variety of secondary education settings from permanent roles as an MFL teacher in both state and independent sectors as well as International schools. I also hold a CELTA certificate from International House London and have over four years experience teaching English as a Second Language. I have the flexibility to adapt effectivley to most situations.

Teaching Approach:

I encourage the learner to develop strategies to become more autonomous with their language acquisition. I adopt a self-reflective approach to feedback, encouraging the learner to reflect on their own progress and areas for improvement. I also enjoy using a variety of techniques for encouraging the learning of languages such as language games, quizzes as well as more structured tasks. Having taught a large variety of pupils over the past three years I feel confident in adapting my teaching techniques to suit the pupils I am teaching.
