An enthusiastic and encouraging native French teacher.
Teaching Experience:
I have decades of experience working for established French language schools and have taken students through to achieving their GCSE, A-Level and University goals.
I have prepared professionals for oversea placements and retirees for purchasing properties in France.
Teaching Approach:
I am passionate about sharing my culture and creating a warm learning environment to reduce inhibitions and build confidence in newly acquired French skills.
I also tailor tutoring sessions to meet the learning needs of adults who wish to take classes at a beginner, intermediate or advanced level.
Lessons take place online with zoom platform.

I was worried that by having no foreign language skills that I would struggle starting a new language, however Martine has made the learning enjoyable. From Kate (/5): Martine is an excellent teacher. I have made lots of progress with her, especially with my conversation, listening skills and comprehension of French. I have done a wide variety of activities in class, from conversation to working on grammar, reading French novels, and now working on improving my listening and comprehension skills.
Also lots of discussion on French culture, food, politics, history, using articles from newspapers and books. I have learnt an awful lot about France,as well as improving my French. Thank you Martine.

From Sophie (/5): Martine is extremely friendly. She took time to assess both mine and my husband's individual abilities before teaching. We are both at very different levels and she manages this well! Martine welcomes us into her home so we feel comfortable to learn! Merci Martine! First tutors also made it very easy for me to get in touch with Martine and we were able to start lessons really quickly after finding her on their website.

Sophie and Matt are a delight to teach and it is very rewarding to find two motivated young professionals wanting to improve their french as they are keen to learn and this makes my teaching more interesting at juggling with different levels in one session. From Holly (/5): Martine is a wonderful teacher, she is very friendly and easy to talk to, and has really made an effort to get to know me on a personal level so my lessons can be tailored is the best possible way to suit my ability, and fit with other factors such as my working hours e.g how much I can realistically achieve between sessions. I am very much a beginner at French (having not really had much involvement with it since I took my GCSE's five years ago), but intend to work my way up to an A Level, and with Martines help and encouragement I am confident I will be able to achieve that.

From Alan (/5): I could not have wished for a better French tutor than Martine who creates an enjoyable and relaxed learning environment and has tailored her tuition to meet my learning needs. I am a beginner and speak terrible French but Martine is always very patient and encouraging and I feel that I am making progress under her expert guidance. I could not be more pleased with my choice of tutor.

Learning through different ways makes the lessons interesting as well as very enjoyable. I totally recommend Martine if you are looking to learn french!!

As I am returning to learning French, I was a little apprehensive about my abilities, however, Martine created a comfortable space for me to express myself in what I hope will become my second language.
