Personal Description:

I am a friendly and experienced private language tutor with a background in acting. My passion for languages dates back to my childhood and it comes through in my lessons, whilst my performing arts background makes me a good communicator who is able to inspire clients/pupils with confidence. I am particularly good at clarifying grammar issues and helping learners practice and improve their pronunciation.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a private language tutor for over ten years. I have tutored students of various ages and backgrounds with excellent exam results and successful outcomes in terms of language fluency.

"Maria is a remarkable tutor with a broad range of teaching skills and a lot of
patience and adaptability to her student`s needs! We have contacted her for my
boyfriend`s mother who could barely speak English and is also struggling with
attention and focussing issues and we can say she has done an excellent job!
We could see the improvement from the very first months and she really progressed
since they started working together. Teaching a second language to adults who only
speak their native tongue is quite a difficult task and we can`t recommend her enough
for the job, she`s a pro!"

"I`ve been doing Romanian with Maria for a few months now, initially face to face and now via Skype. I enjoy my lessons a great. Maria has excellent teaching skills, prepares well for the class, and provides me with good feedback. Aside from that, the lessons are fun and I look forward to them. Would definitely recommend."

Teaching Approach:

I split my lessons between grammar and vocabulary practice using various media. I teach thoroughly and aim to leave nothing unclarified as well as to adapt my method to the individual needs of each pupil. My aim is to find a perfect balance between theory and its application in a creative and stimulating way.
