Personal Description:

I am a native Portuguese speaker based in London for five years. I am an actress with a Bachelor degree from The Lisbon Theatre and Film School and a Masters degree from the Guildford Acting School. I have worked in cinema, theatre and performance art at a professional level in Portugal and I am recently developing a short film in London. I can speak Portuguese, English and Spanish.

I love everything connected with art, interacting with different cultures, working out, meditation and having a glass of wine with good company.

Teaching Experience:

At Language Exchange Community, I helped adults taking their first steps in speaking Portuguese. That experience gave me the passion in teaching my own language, and since then I have providing private tutoring to students from different nationalities (English, German and Cypriot). In the UK, I've been teaching Portuguese for four years.

Teaching Approach:

I believe in a friendly approach geared to the client's needs and expectations, and to make sure that the client enjoys the lesson whilst improving their skills and gaining confidence. Therefore, my teaching approach depends very much on the student, their age, their personality, their levels as well as their needs and expectations. I am passionate about languages and I am keen to share my passion in the most efficient as well as fun way. As I have studied other languages myself, I can empathise with the frustrations and joys one can experience when learning a language. So to start I need a clear understanding of the objectives of the students so the lessons can be planned according to their needs and preferences. Then, once the lessons start, it's important to keep a record of progress and issues that need to be addressed whilst allowing flexibility in the planning and delivery of the lessons, so as to ensure that the needs of the students are met and that they make the progress they are expecting.
