I graduated in BA German (2:1) in 1989 and after working in international business for several years I retrained to be a German teacher. I have over 20 years experience teaching privately and in state schools, (both at a comprehensive and a highly selective girls' grammar). Now I work independently as I would like my working hours to be flexible. As well as tutoring GCSE and A Level students, I teach General/ Business German at 3 different levels at home and at Visteon Engineering Services in Chelmsford and am an Associate German Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford. I am also an Examiner for the new GCSE German oral examination.

I adopt a personalised approach according to my students' needs. I focus on communication skills (speaking and listening) as well as building students' confidence with reading, grammar and written German. I will focus on whatever aspect of German my student wants and prepare a tailor-made course.
