Hello, my name is Katharina (23), I am a German native speaker living in London.

Whether you are looking to cover the basics for an upcoming holiday, fast track through the beginner level phase, preparing for an exam or just want to get back into speaking German, I'll happily guide you through the steps of getting one step closer to your target.

I specialise in teaching students and adults from beginner level to advanced, as well as GCSE preparation tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously tutored students (up to GCSE level) in a number of subjects including history, politics and econimics a well as languages such as Latin, German and English. Additionally I have experience in teaching languages to adults of different levels (from beginner to advanced).

Teaching Approach:

I prefer teaching face-to-face, intensity and extent of material covered in the lessons can be adapted to your personal needs and depends on current level of understanding. I completely understand some people learn faster than others, so don't worry, you are in charge of determining the pace at which you want to improve and I will give you all the help you require to achieve your goal.

Besides the pure language aspect of learning German (reading, speaking, Llistening, writing), I also cover topics of public interest and daily life to give the lessons a more natural feel to it while simultaneously introducing you to German culture along the way.

To me, it's important the lessons stay varied yet relevant. Open to holding lessons in all sorts of places museums to broaden your vocabulary and ability to hold conversations on specific topics, interests and hobbies.

A few details on what my lessons could include:

- Practise conversations on chosen topics
- Reading and discussing book excerpts together (you're welcome to bring your own book if you have one you'd want to go through!)
- Proofreading of written pieces (dialogue, essays, statements)
- Grammar tasks including sentence structure, causes and genders
- Short vocabulary or comprehension test every other session to check progress and understanding

Majority of communication will be in German throughout the lesson unless otherwise agreed (depending on your level and how comfortable you are with it)
