I'm a native Japanese speaker and have been living in Leeds for nearly 7 years now. I was born in Hyogo and grew up in Nagoya.
I have done a degree and master at Leeds Conservatoire and Leeds Beckett University.

She makes sure to speak clearly and make you understand everything during the lessons. I am looking forward to continue the lessons with her and see my improvements in Japanese! She makes sure to speak very clearly which really helps when practicing listening skills, and she really goes the extra mile to help you if you need it. I can tell that Karen genuinely cares about her students and wants to help them improve their skills. I’m getting a better experience with Karen and faster progress than I did in 3 years of uni studying Japanese full time. If you want to learn Japanese, look to further!

From Julian (5/5): Karen is exactly what I was looking for in a tutor. I had been learning Japanese myself but not following a particular textbook and needed to practice language production and speaking in general. Karen was flexible with this and able to assess what I needed and come up with lots of relevant examples to help me consolidate what I had learnt. She is friendly and made me feel comfortable when I was nervous about speaking.
