Personal Description:
My name is Jun. I'm a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from Anhui province in China but I've been living in the UK for the last 8 years. I trained and worked as a teacher in China and I've continued to teach both in local schools, weekend language schools and providing 1 to 1 tuition here in England.
Teaching Experience:
I've worked for 20 years as a language teacher (Mandarin and English) teaching at all levels from beginner to advanced and all age groups from pre-school to adult. I can help you develop your general day to day Mandarin skills and I also have a lot of experience helping students prepare for specific tests including the HSK and A-levels.
Teaching Approach:
I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and success. To do this, I create a safe and supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves and ask questions. Engaging students in the learning process by encouraging them to participate in the creation of their syllabus, ask questions, and work collaboratively with me towards their goals is a key to my teaching approach. I am an expert in personalising instruction and recognise that every student is unique and has different learning needs. I provide all my students with constructive feedback that focuses on what they've done well and how they can improve

Jun has provided me with a thorough grounding in speaking Mandarin and writing Chinese characters, starting from scratch. We have weekly lessons at a fixed time, however, she is flexible when I cannot make it, even on short notice, which I greatly appreciate. We are currently aiming for me to acquire the HSK 1 qualification and are making good and steady progress towards doing so.
