Information About Julian - Tiverton teacher - (9 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Julian:
I have been married to John for 35 years. We have 3 children, now grown up, and 2 small grand daughters.
I studied French and Spanish at Oxford University and subsequently spent 2 years in Chile where I taught a class of 7 year olds and did some ESOL lessons. After returning to England I obtained my PGCE in Primary education and taught for a year at that level. Since then I have taught both French and Spanish at all levels and to all ages, from 5 to 85! For 10 years I was head of languages in a private secondary school. Most recently I have been involved in Adult Education and coaching for GCSE and A level. We have recently moved house and so I am looking for more work in area where I now live.
I use a wide range of methods when teaching one to one, as appropriate to the needs of the student. I may use a textbook, work sheets or flash cards; CDs and DVDs; past exam papers and material taken from the internet. I always enjoy using games, pictures, and puzzles to encourage enjoyable interaction and meaningful communication.
