Information About Jane - Llanfyllin teacher

Personal Description:

I teach ESOL, Arabic and French to equal levels in the Active Languages Teaching style.

I am a trained and PGCE qualified languages teacher, with a PhD in a language teaching subject. I having spent twelve years teaching in various state school systems before bringing up my family who are now teenagers.

I use the active language teaching style, consequently my lessons tend to be lively and fun!

I am very well travelled and experienced in many walks of life, having also spent the last decade with a close involvement in the music industry. I have taught pupils ranging between 5 and 75 years so am happy teaching all ages.

I also teach music production, songwriting and composition.

Teaching Experience:

My last work has been as the Director of Studies at a local ESOL and foreign languages institute, where I have successfully introduced British Council Accreditation.

Teaching Approach:

My teaching is learner centred and although I focus on situational objectives, I work towards grammatical objectives consistently. I believe that pupils learn languages best through usage, particularly in communicating with a skilled exponent of the language and consequently small group work has a lot to recommend itself. I usually prepare materials specifically for learner needs
