This is how 3 referees rated Jackie:
Having lived and worked in Japan for seven years, I have gained not only a fluency in the Japanese language but also an awareness and appreciation of the subtleties of Japanese culture. I love the Japanese people and enjoy teaching about their language and culture. My recently obtained doctorate studies the values and perspectives of contemporary Japanese university students. I am also fluent in German and spent a year living in Germany during my university years. I have a great affinity with Germany and the German people and have several German friends that I am still in touch with even 20 years after living there. Prior to teaching languages my most recent employment involved using my German and Japanese languages on the telephone and composing emails on a daily basis. My French is proficient and I am pleased to have been able to help my French GCSE students improve on their predicted grades.
I have been teaching languages (Japanese, German, French, and English as a Foreign Language) in private, bespoke lessons since 2011. I have taught students at all levels of ability, from absolute beginners, through GCSE, A level and even university undergraduate level. Prior to this, whilst living in Japan (1999-2006), I gained extensive experience teaching Japanese and English as a Foreign Language to various groups of non-native speakers ranging from private lessons, to joint lessons, to groups of primary school, high school and university students.
My students appreciate my enthusiasm and love of languages. I aim to inspire my students by making lessons fun and relevant. The text book is merely a tool that I use to facilitate conversation and help students make the language their own. I can offer tutoring on Skype or face to face for casual use or for preparation towards GCSE or A' Level German and Japanese, and to GCSE level in French.

I'm already looking forward to my next lesson!
The environment makes me at ease and I don’t think I would have tried the online route as I’m more a personal able learner.
Thanks again and upwards and onwards
She makes herself available at all times for questions, and is nothing short of one of the most passionate people I have ever had the privilege of working with.
I feel very lucky to be working with her, and would highly recommend her services.
No question is too silly for her to answer, and she happily explains certain language semantics and tricks to enable a good understanding of it, not just the ability to parrot it.
Laslty, Jackie's lessons are well rounded to suit reading, writing, speaking and listening in a balance that suits your goals. and she is able to tailor it all to your skill level as she teaches. I would highly recommend her and I look forward to the next lesson!
I'm currently 2 lessons in and i can already feel my Japanese getting better (especially spoken Japanese).
Looking forward to may more lessons in the future.
The first lesson went very well and Jackie was very understanding when both myself and my boyfriend were a little late due to traffic. The lessons included a information on Japanese culture as well as the language learning. We are both really looking forward to continuing our lessons in the coming weeks.
Most importantly my son is enjoying the lessons, and maintaining his enthusiasm for the language. I think we have been very lucky to find Jackie and we are hoping for great results!
All the best,
