Information About Iwona - Southall teacher

Personal Description:

I am a friendly and approachable teacher with a qualified status (QTS, 2006), currently working at school, who also provides private tutoring in Maths and English. I am thoughtful and considerate and believe that allowing a student taking risks in their learning boosts their self-belief in their own abilities. I enjoy teaching and nurturing children and have seen how much progress they have made with my support. Most of all, teaching is a process which allows a student to become a confident and independent learner taking the skills for life.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working with learners of different ages and abilities, those exceeding and needing extra support in core subjects. Years of my experience, knowledge of curriculum and children`s development translate positively into the success and high achievement of my students.
I also have over 6 years of experience in successful preparation for 11+ exams allowing entrance to top ranked grammar schools.

I have also taught those needing extra boost for raising their level at school and had a very positive feedback regarding immense progress they made.
I also hold TEFL qualification and have been teaching English as a Foreign Language at different levels in UK and Overseas. I have had students coming from different countries and different cultural backgrounds which enhances my understanding of how to support learners.

Teaching Approach:

I have a strong belief in Growth Mindset and believe that `mistakes are only the beginning` of the pathway to success. Taking a risk, believing in your abilities, persistence and perseverance and the key to making progress and creating a confident learner. I am passionate about education and love teaching and believe a student needs to be challenged. I ensure the sessions are tailored to the needs and learning styles of a specific learner. From the start I create a warm, understanding and enthusiastic atmosphere to facilitate trust and comfort. My patience and dedication create a stimulating learning environment, therefore positively impacting on the learner`s confidence and progress.
