Personal Description:

I currently teach face to face and am a Marketing and French graduate and have trained as a secondary school teacher on a PGCE. I also have an Enhanced DBS completed 2020. I have 16 years experience tutoring within the top schools including Merchant Taylor's, St Paul's Juniors, Oxford University, Eton College, Merchant Taylor's,Haberdashers, Cambridge University and Harrow School to name but a few.
FIRST HALF HOUR FREE as a goodwill gesture. I also charge 45p per mile round-trip travel expenses.I am also trained as a secondary school teacher so am up to date with the current exam requirements.
I am currently working as a private tutor and a Supply Teacher in Secondary Schools in London teaching mainly French English and Business Studies . Most of my students have achieved and A* in their GCSE's after my tuition and I can travel to easily to London SL, UB, TW, SW, WD, HA, NW, W, KT, HP, RG, AL SE etc. I currently have students from Oxford University and Eton College, Merchant Taylor's and Haberdashers and St Paul's juniors.
I am not a native French speaker but am a trainee French teacher and have been fluent in French since 1984, and have lived in Paris. I am an excellent teacher and all my students grades get up to A* when they take my good advise on tips and tricks to passing exams.
I have experience working in large secondary schools and am familiar with the current curriculum requirements in UK educational establishments.
I also tutor online via SKYPE Webcam. and I am a fluent French speaker over 25 years since (1984).

I use different types of presentations from my laptop and textbooks depending on the preferred learning style of the student's requirements. I also have a B.A (Hons) Marketing with French studies. I am very familiar with the requirements from GCSE's / AS and A2 Level exam boards including EDEXCEL, OCR, AQA WJEC and EQUQAS (new GCSE exam-board). I can give great examiners top tips.
I have been teaching Adults and children for the past 16 years as it is my main job.
I can teach in the privacy of your own home or you can come to my home if preferred
I have lived in Paris, France and whilst studying for my Degree this played an important part into the French culture and customs.

I am currently a Supply Teacher and have been teaching French to children with a well know french club from the ages of 2yrs to 11yrs within a group environment Reception and Primary. I have also taught groups of 32 students up to KS4 in schools. I have lots of experience teaching GCSE's from (Edexcel, OCR, AQA and WJEC exam boards ) As and A2 levels, Degree and adults conversational french.
I also run adult classes at their business premises for a group of 12 people on their lunch breaks.
My classes are fun French using music, games, activity sheets and homework only if requested.

I have a very flexible approach and use phonetic methods as my specialty is in accuracy of pronunciation.
All lesson plans are tailored to suit individuals or groups from beginners to advanced levels using structured lesson plans progressing to the desired level that each individual requires.

From Richard (5/5): We were looking for a French tutor to provide foundational support for our 14 year old daughter who had selected French as a GCSE option. She had had poor foundational teaching prior to this (as former school alternated Spanish/French/German every term!), resulting in her being behind the rest of her class.
I am pleased to say that Helen has quickly provided our daughter with the foundational support and also a lot more confidence in the subject. We recently had a parents evening at the school and the teacher believes our daughter has caught up and is now at the same level as the rest of the class… around 4 months ahead of the time we were all expecting.
We will continue to have Helen to support our daughter so that she can capitalise on the learning she is receiving ready for her final year next year.
Thanks to Helen for her effective methods and also her personality which makes the learning for our daughter more fun. Thanks also for being a good tutor and also for your flexibility when we need to make changes to time slots etc.

My daughter enjoys her classes and says that she has made things that she couldn't grasp before a lot clearer and also points of grammer that she found difficult to understand at with the teachers at her school she now understands. Helen also makes her classes fun.
