Personal Description:

I am passionate about teaching my native language, French. Although I am very patient, but I am also very demanding and will make sure I get the best from all my students at all levels.
I love seeing a student thrive and push the learning boundaries.
One of my year 9s whom I have been teaching since year 7 is now accessing year 11 work and achieved 91% across the 4 skills in her end of year exam. What a great way to start year 10!!

Teaching Experience:

I taught French in schools in the UK for 24 years but teaching has always been a passion of mine, even when I was a teenager… I was a modern languages head of department for 7 years across 2 schools.
Since covid, my private tutoring business has really flourished and I have now taught more than 2,000 lessons. My ratings across 3 tutoring platforms are all 5 star across children in higher primary (10 year old minimum), teenagers and adults of all ages.

Teaching Approach:

Ever since starting teaching, I have used my own teaching technique to improve students pronunciation so that they sound French.
I also believe that you cannot become fluent in a language without understanding grammar and tenses. I make sure that I make it accessible to students of all abilities and give them opportunities to practice what they have learnt.
Alongside the grammar, I also make sure that I create opportunities for genuine conversations on a variety of topics and I also use videos, songs to diversify the learning.
I had been teaching 6 of my students for 2 years or more and lost 3 of them because they are finishing their GCSEs. I thrive on long term assignments, for instance from KS3 onwards as I love seeing the progress of students over time.
Starting lessons in the summer before GCSE is the best way to start with an edge and make sure that grammar is in place before the stress of the year starts!
I have about 13 regular students a week from September, so my availability will fill up quickly.
