Information About Genevieve - Hook teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Genevieve:
After leaving the corporate world in April 2018 to go back to my first love: languages, I started teaching and tutoring again.
A linguist by trade, I studied English at a French university where I specialised in translation/interpretation, literature and philology.
I moved to England in 1981 where I started by doing some translation and tutoring. After a hiatus in Prague from 2007 to 2012 I came back to England to be in the same country as my grown up children.
Most of my current students are adults, either retired or professionals moving to work in a Francophile country.
I have also tutored GCSE students to help them towards their exams, taught at various colleges in Hampshire both evening adults classes and A levels. I also trained executives in business French.
My experience includes teaching English as a foreign language.
Except for exam support lessons, which have to follow a particular curriculum, I tailor the class to the person, not only their level of the language, but what they need it for and when. Even for GCSE/ALevels/degree, each person is different and benefits from a personalised approach.
Learning is easier when entertaining and fun, hence my approach, although if sometimes demanding, includes laughter.
I teach on a one to one basis, as well as up to a maximum of 4 people.
