Personal Description:

Bonjour, I am a French citizen who has been living in the UK for 9 years. When I moved to England, after a successful career in the PR industry, I decided to become a teacher to be able to bring my own contribution to my adoptive country. I qualified as a Secondary School Languages Teacher in 2008. I have two beautiful bilingual daughters and strangely enough 2 bilingual dogs… The only one who is not totally fluent in French is my husband but he is catching up quickly ;-) I have a very enthusiastic and warm personality and I am very keen to share my native language and culture with learners of all levels. Apart from French, I also speak Spanish to an advanced level. I believe that speaking well at least 2 languages open doors and I would encourage anybody to do so.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught French and Spanish in a Secondary School up to GCSE level for the last 7 years. I have also tutored A Level French students. I am very aware of examinations specification and requirement at GCSE level and A level in all 4 skills that are implemented in languages. My GCSE students have had proven records of success at their French and Spanish exams over the last few years.
I have recently reoriented my teaching practice towards Primary School as I believe that the sooner children acquire sound and solid languages foundations, the better for their education. However, I am keen to carry on working with High School and College students on a 1 to 1 basis.

Teaching Approach:

Pupils and students I have taught so far liked me because they said that I was a nice, fun and caring teacher.
In my opinion, the main responsibility of a teacher is to engage the learners taking into consideration their level and learning style, and to offer a tailored teaching and learning experience that will suit each learner. A 1 to 1 situation is ideal because I can adapt my teaching to the learner's needs and approach to learning whether it is more interactive, fun, or academic. I also like to use questioning in my teaching practice as I believe that it enhances the level of progress. I believe I am a good teacher with whom learners make steady progress and enjoy learning.
