Personal Description:

APRIL 2025

Hello, Bonjour. I am a French Native Qualified teacher, born and educated in France. I was a teacher for over 10 years in France, in schools and colleges; In 2010 my English wife and I moved to England and I started teaching in schools and giving private tuition. Soon I was concentrating on individual one/two to one tutoring with students of all ages in their homes, places of business, universities or online via Skype. I have many students from referrals, as well as through First Tutors Academic and Languages,
I am passionate about tutoring students, watching their progress and achievements. I am friendly and approachable and I really enjoy teaching French and preparing the lessons for each student to ensure they reach their goals…

Teaching Experience:

Teacher working with 11 to 18 years old students, also as Head of Department in Secondary schools and colleges in France for 10 Years .

Tutoring and teaching since 2010 in England to children and adults . I work with students studying for their GSCE, A level, degree and post graduate . Also adults for business and holidays and relocation.

I have been awarded Qualified Teacher Status by the English General Teaching Council.

Teaching Approach:

I work to maximise students the benefits of learning from a professional, qualified French native speaking teacher.

If you need for business, or just want to learn for pleasure, I can ensure you will learn in the best way.

If your child needs help and encouragement to improve their school French either at GCSE or at A level, I work with their strengths, while supporting and improving the weaker areas following the syllabus. I have a track record of success, improving grades.

During the first meeting/lesson, I discuss with the students their current knowledge together with their aims and goals - then I can prepare the correct work for them.

I am very patient and work at the pace that is comfortable for the student, whilst ensuring they progress well. I write individual programmes for each student ; I am confident that my methods are effective after several years of successfully teaching students GCSE, A and AS level, business and conversational French.

There is no charge for the initial meeting/introductory lesson.

From Libby (5/5): I'm very picky when it comes to teachers, perhaps as I have been one for so long and really want someone to teach me who is an excellent teacher. I haven't been disappointed! Francois asked all the right questions to assess my level and what I wanted to get out of lessons. The balance between conversation and planned materials is perfect and he has geared homework to suit my needs and the time I have to work with. He corrects my French in a kind way. His knowledge of grammar is excellent and he can also explain it using very clear examples and explanations to make things clear to me that I have been struggling with for a long time.

Reply from: Francois: I am very suprised that Zoltan has chosen to give feedback as he did not have any lessons with me. At our first meeting on Skype, he wanted to use his mobile phone for lessons which I explained was not going to be an efficient way as it would be very slow and difficult to read and write during lessons. We agreed that he would see about being able to use better equipment. That is the last time we had any communication. I subsequently asked First Tutors to investigate. In 18 years of teaching I have never had a bad review.

Thanks to his help both my wife and I are making significant progress in the French language both in written and spoken forms. Whilst based on clear lesson plans, Francois' style of teaching is flexible and he misses no opportunity to extend the learning experience through following up on questions by the student.

We could not have wished for a better Tutor. Francois is exactly the [erson we were seeking.

Learning with Francois has so far been extremely enjoyable, good humoured, and also quite taxing.

I have been able to improve my comprehension of the language a lot, alongside my writing and speaking skills too. The individual worksheets he sets for you are to your ability, but are also challenging which makes you learn even more. Would highly recommend him as a tutor to any age!
