Information About Fay - Kettering teacher - (10 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Fay:
I am a very experienced AS and A2 French A level teacher, and have taught GCSE and GCE for over twenty years - all at the same Northamptonshire Secondary school. I am very familiar with the Cambridge entrance procedures, and have a number of students who are either currently studying at Cambridge or who have since graduated. I am consistently rated as 'outstanding' or as 'good with outstanding features' in both internal monitoring reviews and by Ofsted. I am very lively, energetic, and will expect students to work hard!
See above! Note also that I have a First Class Honours degree (Nottingham), an MA (SOAS, University of London) and attained QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in 1992.
I use a variety of teaching methods, and tailor them to the needs of my students. I believe that an understanding of French grammar is the key to being able to really manipulate and 'own' a language. I pride myself on being able to simplify and demystify French, and have many students who are amazed at how straightforward French can be, when carefully taught. Most of my A level students actually choose to pursue French - at least in some capacity - at degree level… Even those who were adamant that they would not, at the start of our sessions together! I hope to encourage, inspire, and occasionally entertain (!) my students. I expect them to work hard, but the rewards can be fantastic.

My son was predicted a low-average grade for his GCSE, but after 1 year with Fay has achieved an A grade, which we think is excellent considering his low starting point. (not to mention surprising his school teacher!)
She is enthusiastic, straight-forward, was always prepared for lessons, very focussed, getting through an enormous amount of work, flexible on timings, and very supportive to both me and my son.
Plus she adapted to whatever my son was doing in class, so completely complimented his overall French learning.
I have to say she is probably the best tutor in any subject that we have come across. (we had 3 tutors for other subjects too)
I can't thank her enough.
My son is taking A level Sciences, but had he been interested in taking languages further, I have no doubt Fay would have inspired him to a high grade in A level French too.
I trailed through first tutors panicked and desperate to find a miracle teacher for my daughter and I'm so pleased to say I've found her!
Right from the first lesson my daughter has made big improvements. She came out of her first lesson exhausted but delighted saying Fay hardly stopped for a breath!
Fay works her pupils hard whilst carefully building their confidence.
It's very clear She loves her job and gets enormous satisfaction seeing her pupils progress.
We travel fifty minutes to get to Fay, but for quality of teaching with such a lovely person it doesn't seem like a big price to pay.
My daughter enjoys her lessons and would recommend her to others
