I am a native English speaker. I have a CELTA certificate, PTTLS, and I also hold an enhanced DBS. I have a first class Bachelor's degree in Italian and Spanish, and lived and worked in Turin in northern Italy for 6 years, from 2006-2012. I also have a first class Masters degree in Translation Studies.
I taught English in Italy from 2006-2010; I taught mainly business English, conversational English, and some exams - mainly PET and IELTS. I have also taught at children's EFL summer schools since I returned to the UK. I have taught from beginner to upper intermediate levels, individuals and groups. I have two teaching qualifications: CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Award) and PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector). I have been teaching beginner - intermediate level Italian to adults and children since 2014, both privately and for the local authority.
It depends very much on the individual learner's needs. I have two teaching qualifications: CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Award) and PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), which means I have a good understanding of designing lessons and courses to fit individual student's needs. I like to carry out an evaluation with the student beforehand to determine their goals, current abilities, and identify any potential barriers to learning.
