Information About Emma - Rhyl teacher

Personal Description:

Hello, my name is Emma and I am a qualified ESL teacher. Teaching is my passion because I really enjoy helping people to achieve their goals. Apart from teaching, I am always learning new things. My latest project, is mastering photography. When I go on family days out, I always take my new camera along. There is always something that inspires me.
I have not always been a teacher. I have also served in the British Army. I have worked as a security officer, as a youth leader, and I have also worked in mental health. All four jobs were incredibly challenging, but I have been very fortunate to meet such a variety of people, and to see some of the world too.
I am very family orientated. I am married, and I have three children ages nine, eleven and twelve. I also have an unusual pet, his name is Jeff, and he is a Bearded Dragon. Some of my students have enjoyed meeting him too.

Teaching Experience:

I have five years of teaching experience. I currently work as an online teacher, teaching Chinese children English, and I have just started reviewing classes too. This means that I have to determine the level of English a student has before putting them in touch with an appropriate teacher. I have also worked offline. I have taught in local schools, and I have also been involved in helping young people at school who were victims of bullying. I have experience in working with children with dyslexia and ADHD also.

Teaching Approach:

My approach to teaching is very simple. A good teacher will show patience, kindness and understanding to students.
I am a very patient teacher, but I really do like to have some fun whilst teaching too. I do this because I want my students to feel comfortable and confident in class.
Before I meet a student in class, I make a note that they may have had a good week or a bad week, and I take this into consideration. I make sure that I am always a positive influence, and I strive to make my classes as happy and fun as I can.
