Information About Elli - Windlesham teacher
Personal Description:
I am an A level student, 18 years old. I have studied Spanish for 5 and a half years now. I got A* at GCSE and AS level in the language, and am predicted an A* in my A level, which I will take in June. I spend a lot of time in Spain during school holidays and have many native Spanish speaking friends, which has helped me to learn the language to a high standard. I am planning to take a gap year in Spain next year to perfect my Spanish and to learn other languages as well.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience tutoring younger students at my school in Spanish in small groups, with one or two students to each tutor. This was a volunteered service and done at my school during free periods or break times. I did a few of these sessions for half an hour or an hour each before the students were to sit an exam.
I have also had experience tutoring younger students in mathematics. This was also at school during free periods and took place for a few months. This was more one-on-one tutoring helping students with any specific problems they were having.
Teaching Approach:
I believe that to learn a language you need to know how to learn it effectively. Learning methods can vary between students, for example some may learn best by writing things down a few times - using repetition, or others by listening to the words in conversation, using word association, or other methods. I aim to help the student find which method works best for them and use it effectively.
