Personal Description:

Hello, I'm Eleanor 'Kent Spanish Speak' and I offer you, your family and friends the opportunity to, quite simply, speak Spanish via structured lessons tailored to your specific wants and level.

Briefly about me: Fortunately, Hispanic wonders were introduced to me when I was 11 and did Spanish at school (Simon Langton Grammar in Canterbury). Then after uni I spent 13 years living, working and travelling in Spanish speaking countries getting plenty of real life study. I love so much about the Spanish and Latin American languages, countries and cultures that I felt propelled to share my passion with others and encourage their growth into enjoying the experience too. So when back in Kent for a long stint I set-up Kent Spanish Speak (2014). I and the other tutor I worked with moved back to Spain to 'Brexit-proof' ourselves, using technology to take students with us virtually. Home from home is Whitstable and if only I could get there more often, Nanegal in Ecuador.

I tutor English and Spanish full time and like to seek out anyone else with enthusiasm for Spain and Latin America and who wants to speak Spanglish, Spanish from Spain (Castellano) or Latin American Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

Language tutoring came from a background of teaching gymnastics and IT and coaching small businesses. I first taught English in South America and whilst doing that realised that I really enjoyed helping people learn another language. And then of course all the volunteers and various non-native Spanish speakers I mixed with were often wanting help with their improving Spanish. So my passion and enthusiasm for education and most things Hispanic led to me tutoring Spanish once I was back in the UK. Kent Spanish Speak is a growing venture - which has become Mallorca Spanish & English speak too - offering classes for all ages and levels, individually, as a couple or family. Now that I'm back living in Spain I operate (once Covid is over) with groups coming for short study holiday breaks and via Skype (or in person and groups if you live locally).

Teaching Approach:

Spanish Speak offers you the opportunity to, quite simply, speak Spanish.

Together we can develop your understanding and knowledge of Spanish at a pace that suits you whether you want to:
• start learning the language from scratch
• improve your language skills for work or pleasure
• practise with other learners or individually
• move to Spain or set-up a business there
• sharpen up your rusty Spanish before you go away to a Spanish speaking country
• be able to comfortably converse with a new Spanish speaking friend
• just not lose what you learnt earlier in life
• or need help studying for an exam

Immersion is said to be the best way to learn a language and so I encourage you to create a mini Spanish world for you at home. It’s not all verb drills in a classroom setting – lessons include recipes, film, magazine articles and material that captures your interest etc.

Overall, the learning experience has to be relaxed and enjoyable in order to be successful. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and helping people with their command of the Spanish language, whatever the reason is for adding this romance language to their repertoire.

I give classes as 1:1’s, in two’s or in a small group (of the same level).
E.g. prices are buy a deal of 5 lessons and get 1 free £170 one person or £220 a couple; adhoc £34p/h 1:1, £44.00p/h for a couple (T&C's apply), £12.50 per person p/h for a minimum group of four. Childrens lessons are discounted.

Everyone is unique and learns differently – I teach using a variety of materials and practise with you including from home (and face to face - in a café, whilst walking the dog, doing the shopping etc)…wherever works to help ingrain vocabulary and the language structure.
