I am an enthusiastic, successful Teaching Professional with significant experience as a European Project Manager and PR in the educational field.
Teaching Experience:
I have more than 25 years of language teaching in diverse environments, from secondary and vocational schools to colleges, as well as a private tutor in the UK and abroad. I consider myself very successful in motivating students and coping with their individual needs and expectations of communicating efficiently in a foreign/second language.
I offer tuition in all levels of language and literature learning, up to degree level. I also have extensive experience working with adult learners, preparing them for exams or their business challenges and travelling, as well as supporting them in their inclusion in a foreign culture.
Teaching Approach:
I encourage students to enjoy and collaborate in their learning.
I aim to provide good quality teaching in a homely atmosphere, that enhances their confidence and motivation.
I focus on improving the spoken fluency and the listening skills of my students while developing their confidence in reading and discussing interesting topics. Grammar is also an essential part of my tuition, and it is learnt according to the topics, explained in context and consolidated with fun practice. Culture is also fundamental in each lesson.
I always ensure adequate differentiation in my teaching, taking into consideration the individual learning needs and learning styles of my students. This results in excellent communication between both parties and the practical learner assessment throughout the course. Paramount to my approach is the enthusiasm for the subjects I teach. I sincerely enjoy teaching and watching students improve their skills and being pleased with their progress.

I didnt hold up much hope of even surviving the free tester class, due to my lack of confidence in my learning ability at the ripe old age of 42! Catarina very quickly made me feel totally at ease that I decided to give the 10 class package a go! From the very beginning the class was fun, easy to follow and educational. I began to learn really quickly and thankfully my confidence grew due to Catarina's ability to make you learn in a very happy, easy envirnoment. Catarina is a wonderful teacher with many attributes including her warm friendly nature. I highly recommend her as a teacher and fully believe you will not be disappointed with your progress and journey to learn a new language. I am by no means there yet, but I am confident that I will get there with Catarina's help.
