Information About Ed - Pickering teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Ed:
I am returning to teaching English to speakers of Foreign Languages as I enjoy watching people progress and gain confidence in their own abilities speaking another language. I am a native English speaker, with a neutral accent (known as Received Pronunciation, Queens English or BBC English), generally accepted as the most understood form of speech across all English speaking countries.
I have taught a wide range of ages and abilities, in classrooms and individually.
The best oral and written communicators are able to articulate complex ideas simply and concisely. My students are encouraged to express their own thoughts using whatever vocabulary they have. Therefore, my lessons are highly interactive and reflect ordinary conversations but taken at the pace desired by the student. The only difference is I will stop at appropriate times in order to analyse and improve their conversational abilities. I have learned several foreign languages to a professional level, and understand the difficulties students may encounter. Everyone learns at different paces, however this is not a barrier to achieving a level of fluency. My methods help foreign students gain in confidence, increase their range of vocabulary, and express themselves clearly in English.
