This is how 2 referees rated Dmitry:
I'm a university teacher of Russian living and working in London. I hold a master's degree in linguistics from The University of Oxford and a teaching qualification from Tomsk State University in Russia. I'm a native Russian speaker.
I have been teaching Russian for the past 9 years. The places I have worked at include The University of Bristol and The Foreign Office. I currently work as a Teaching Fellow in Russian at University College London.
My teaching style is a continuum: from a very formal structural approach to a very relaxed communicative style. Usually it is a mixture of styles - I believe there is no single most effective teaching method. I always try to tailor all my lessons to the student's needs. One of the most important things for me is thorough organisation of each individual lesson - lesson plans are absolutely essential. It is also important to eliminate any element of boredom, which I achieve through a relatively fast tempo and a constant change of language activities. Finally, I am very patient and friendly as a tutor.
