Personal Description:

Hola, my name is Dina and I am a native Spanish speaker from Argentina. Having worked as a dentist in my home country, it was after moving to the UK in 2011 that I discovered my passion for languages and I decided to make a change and start a new career. The UK has been my home for over 10 years now and I have gained great experience as a full time, qualified tutor, teaching different ages, levels and numbers of students needing help with vocabulary, conversation, business, holidays and student homework / exams.

Teaching Experience:

I do one-to-one lessons with English and other languages speakers, both children and adults. I've been teaching Spanish for 8 years in the UK and have completed training with the Unamuno Center (University of Salamanca), for ELE tutors (teaching Spanish as a foreign language).
I have also completed different grammar courses, amongst others, for ELE tutors (University of Salamanca).
In addition to my private 1:1 / 1:2 lessons, I've been teaching an adult group of 12-14 people at University of the 3rd Age (U3A) since January 2015 and another adult group in Great Missenden Abbey since 2017 (former Adult Learning Centre Buckinghamshire group).
I teach using a wide variety of resources covering all levels, using different text books, audio, videos and specialised Spanish websites to which I subscribe according to student needs, goals and pace of learning.

Report: I have been having Spanish sessions with Dina now for a year, and not only has my Spanish come on in leaps and bounds, but we have become fast friends. I cannot recommend her highly enough, not only for her tuition which is excellent, but also for her cheerful and friendly disposition.

Report: Dina, has been a fantastic tutor. She managed to build up my confidence when I needed to catch up with so much before a very important exam. Her lessons are really well planned and the exercises she choose are always exactly what I need. She was very supportive and patient. I am still using Dina`s services because I truly enjoy the sessions.

Report: I am delighted with Dina, she is friendly, encouraging and challenging. She instinctively knows what I can cope with and how to stretch me. She has an assortment of materials, apps and iPad downloads so we can mix up the lessons. No hesitation in recommending her - I can`t believe how much I have learnt in four lessons only!

Report: Dina very kindly prepared me for a trip to Guatemala. As I only had a short time frame, she catered the lessons so that I could cover all of the basics and thought carefully about what I would most need. She was also happy to adapt the lessons based on certain activities I told her I would be doing. I would definitely recommend Dina! Thank you for all of your help.

Report: I`ve only had a few lessons with Dina so far but I think she is a very good tutor. She`s very patient and accommodating and has useful resources

Teaching Approach:

I am a friendly and approachable person who will make your lessons enjoyable, interesting and fun. I will encourage you to speak the language as much as possible, according to your needs and level. I will motivate you to talk a bit more each lesson as you make progress and achieve your goals. As we progress, I am always happy to go back and revise past topics, grammar, vocabulary etc, in order to make you feel comfortable and confident using the language. My lessons are always focused on the individual student(s) and are 100% personalised.

I offer lessons either face to face or on-line.
I am also willing to travel to my students (maybe subject to a small additional fee, depending on location).

From Catherine (5/5): I requested Dina because of her experience and her personal summary, not for me but for a friend who wanted to learn Spanish. Argentine Spanish is melodic, clear and spoken at a slower rate than a lot of mainland Spanish.
And what a find she is. I cannot speak for her ability (although initial comments from friend are very favourable) but as to her approachability, attitude and sheer geniality - first class.

From Phil (5/5): Dina is very good. She is well organised, and thoughtful about how she conducts each lesson. She has helped me enormously to recover and develop the Spanish I learned many years ago and she has been flexible in adapting to my particular language needs.
Because I am travelling to South America, it has been useful to work with someone who can distinguish between words and phrases used in Spain and those used in different parts of South America.
Her teaching style is interesting, engaging and often amusing. And as well as all this she is a charming person.
I would recommend her without hesitation to any student at any level of any age.
