Personal Description:
I read French and Spanish at Cambridge and I graduated in 2018. I spent my year abroad in Paris and studied at the prestigious École Normale Supérieure. I have been accepted onto the MSt in Modern Languages at Oxford. I really enjoy learning languages and I have started learning German and Italian.
Teaching Experience:
I have been working as a private tutor for about a year and a half now for various organisations. I have taught over 400 hours and I have received all 5 star reviews (over 50 in total). I have taught people of various ages and levels. I have helped a student improve from a 4 in GCSE Spanish to a 9 in about 9 months. I have to prepare a successful applicant for an MML interview at Christ Church, Oxford. The student received an offer. I have taught a student, who was trying to get a scholarship at Winchester College. I have taught a Cambridge graduate, who required French for a project in Switzerland. I have mainly taught 1:1 lessons but because of my strong record in teaching 1:1 lessons, I was invited by a tutoring organisation to teach group courses. I therefore have experience teaching groups also.
Teaching Approach:
I adopt a meticulous approach to language study. I am very thorough and my teaching style is largely based on the excellent language tuition I received at Cambridge. I am also gentle, kind and patient. I understand that students need to feel comfortable in my lessons and for me, that is as important as the lesson content. I tailor my lessons to the individual and can vary my approach depending on what a particular student requires. I welcome constructive feedback and I am very happy to work with students to co-design a programme of study. I have excellent resources.
