I have been a fully qualified TESOL (Teacher of English as a Second language to Overseas Learners) instructor since January 2000. I spent 3 years in Japan teaching students of all ages and all levels. I have also taught in various places around the UK since returning home to Northern Ireland.

As an English speaker living in Japan, I came to realise how difficult it can be to move to a country where you do not speak the native language. I also discovered that 'fitting in' was more than just learning the language, it was also about learning the culture and understanding the hearts and minds of the people.

As I grew up in Northern Ireland, I will be able to support you, and make Lisburn feel more like home.

I aim to be a bridge for all newcomers into the community of Lisburn, to teach them the English language as fast as possible and enable them to fit into the local society.

I am now settled in Lisburn with my husband and two daughters, Emily and Olivia. I am well established in the community and can introduce my students to a great number of activities and people who will help them to integrate on a deeper level.

Teaching Experience:

10 years plus teaching experience. Our other Instructors are all TESOL - TEFL or CELTA Qualified, are experience and have been university educated.

There is so much that can be learned from the international community, and we believe that we too, have something to teach. English is a fantastic gift to give, it opens up so many exciting doors of and gives speakers amazing insights into the world and the people around them. Communication is the key to success in anything, and Phoenix Language Academy hopes to give this key to all members of our global society.

**Removed By Admin** currently is also offering Children's' Classes, Homework Assistance Classes, and a Children's Summer Scheme directed towards Children entering the school system who have little or no experience of English. The main aims of these lessons are to build confidence in the children and get them used to an all English environment. The classes will instil in them the basic language they need to survive the first few weeks of school until their natural desires to learn more and be involved takes over. Above all we hope the children will have a great time and make some new friends.
