Information About Chase - Reading teacher

Personal Description:

Born in New York, I moved to Paris when I was 2. I grew up speaking English at home and French at school. After receiving my “Brevet” I moved to the UK and graduated with high grades including As in English Literature and French Language.

I have a BA in Music Composition and MA in Music Production with a speciality in vocal recordings and performance techniques. I am also a classically trained baritone and sing in 10 languages.

As well as teach, I am a professional bilingual voice actor represented by VSI, Babble Voices and Matinee Mulitlingual. I have recorded in French and English for Editions Hatier, SNCF, Nesquik, Quantic Dreams, Cypher TM, Sonepar, Agence Madame Monsieur, and Eurostar.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching english and French to students from all over the world since 2012 (roughly 7 years). I have an exprertise in expression and pronounciation. I have taught children, business men and women, other teachers and people who quite simply wish to learn French or English.

I will be offering lessons oriented towards those who wish to learn how to be conversational in either English or French and have a good grasp on grammar and culture. This is ideal anyone who wants to feel comfortable in the framework of these languages. I can teach at a beginner, intermediate and advanced level.

Teaching Approach:

For students today, I think it is important to be able to provide good and fun references for them to explore and enjoy the language as well as the culture. Films, youtube, twitter and tv series are all amazing sources for both of these. I believe in focused learning periods, and for students to demonstrate eagerness to learn, and an open mind to let me help them find the fun in what they are learning. I am therefor going to focus on the contextualisation in anything I teach.

My experience in Acting has led me to develop unique techniques to help with expression and pronunciation. I either speak or am quite familiar with a multitude of Languages at a basic level, including Spanish, German, Russian, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese which allows me to understand what language people are coming from and how best to guide them towards correct expression.
