Information About Charlotte - Weybridge teacher

Personal Description:

I was born and brought up in Portugal. I am bilingual in English and Portuguese and learnt Spanish as a second language up to University level. I've lived mostly in Portugal, though spent a lot of time in Spain as I have family who lived there, whilst I was growing up, though my husband and I have recently moved permanently to England because of his career and also to be closer to family in Surrey.

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching English as a second language in my early twenties, to all age groups from 2 to 70, with a brief voluntary placement in Brazil, teaching underprivileged children in a small town North of Salvador da Bahia. In Portugal, I was based in the greater Lisbon area where I worked for a Language Institute and taught in various schools. I also tutored privately. I teach in groups or on a one-to-one basis. This will be my 18th year as a teacher.

Teaching Approach:

I adapt to the student’s abilities and needs, going at a steady pace, according to their progression. If there are weaker points, we can focus on them a little more until the student feels more confident in those areas. It’s important that my students enjoy their classes, in an informal environment. I really enjoy teaching and am considered to have a caring approach.
