Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher with 25 years experience, teaching children from 3 years and above. I believe in assessing your abilities, and then setting achievable goals for you.
Teaching Experience:
I specialise in preparing young children for school readiness: writing, reading and speech, English as Second Language. I also teach older children and adults who have difficulties with essay writing and listening skills. In the last three years, I have worked with adults whose English is a foreign language. I have had students who came to me without having any confidence in reading. After working with them for a short time, they started reading independently.
Teaching Approach:
Assess and teach, breaking down learning into small chunks. This will help give learners the confidence needed to master the language and the motivation to continue. Examples of success: a) a GCSE student who failed his English Language Paper twice, passed after 5 hours tutoring session. b) I had also helped an adult learner pass her English examinations to obtain her British CItizenship. c) An adult learner who did not speak the English Language initially, gained much confidence after a series of eight sessions. She is now taking English Language examinations and more importantly, her new confidence in the language opened up career choices.

As an education consultant and experienced EFL teacher myself, I introduced Chantelle to a mother of an 11-year-old girl from a country where English is taught as a foreign language. For the first a few lessons, I received Chantelle's feedback on her lessons with the girl and was impressed with her passion for teaching combined with professionalism represented by her knowledge of English language, the materials used and on-line platform **E-mail Address Removed**Classroom to name a few. She was so experienced that she easily found out the child's specific needs in terms of her English language skills and knowledgeable that which materials she can use to resolve those issues. It also implied what her top priority is when she suggested that the original 1-hour lesson be split into 2 half hour lessons to give her more time to digest or practice what is being taught. Most of all, according to the child's mother, the child is enjoying the lessons with Chantelle, which I believe is more important than anthing else! Finally, from parents' point of view, you will be made aware of what is taught during sessions, if there are homework or practice that needs to be done **E-mail Address Removed**Classroom, where you can also communicate with her. I can confirm very comfortably that Chantelle would be one of my first choices for my provisional clients looking for a tutor for their children.

From William (/5): My son is in year 8 and has been struggling in English lessons at school with his handwriting and creative writing. He also has difficulty in other subjects which require longer pieces of writing. He finds it difficult to express himself and as a result has sometimes lost focus.
After just 5 weeks with Chantelle his handwriting has improved, he seem less stressed at the thought of writing and has learnt how to break his work down into smaller chunks and how to picture (literally) what he is writing about.
Chantelle has been very patient, understanding and has made my son see that he "can" do it. I would highly recommend Chantelle to anyone. Louise

She has an array of material at hand to stretch his imagination and encourage creative thought processes which in turn enable him to appreciate reading and writing is more than just something required of him in the education system.
