Information About Ben - Swanscombe teacher - (2 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Ben:
I am a native English speaker who has completed a Masters by Research in the field of Medieval European Literature, following a Bachelors degree in French and Spanish at Leeds University, earning a First Class with Honours and Distinction in Spoken Spanish. I have both lived and studied abroad in Lille, France and León, Spain to deepen my knowledge of European languages and culture. I live in Northfleet and drive, and work from home so I am very flexible on appointment timings.
I have experience teaching a wide age range, having spent a year as a teaching assistant at Trent College, Long Eaton, and have organised and held both group study sessions and one-to-one support classes for students at Leeds University, even coaching classmates for oral assessments and presentations for final-year language modules. I have also given lectures in two different modules on medieval Europe at Leeds University, delivered in foreign languages.
I am a warm and approachable individual who will always tailor my approach to the specific needs of the tutee to address their weaknesses, and help them gain confidence. I am both professional and friendly, and value building a rapport with students to help them achieve their goals. Furthermore, I believe that language tuition does not simply stop at grammar, but that cultural knowledge is important for the correct application of language and authenticity, a tenet that allows me to bring my personal experience to bear.
