Personal Description:
I am a Native Spanish speaker with over 30 years experience. I teach at a very prestigious secondary school and also offer private tuition to suit the needs of different students - from survival conversation to GCSE and A level exam preparation including many different exam boards. Being a native speaker not only can I offer the much needed conversational practice to enable students to feel confident with the new exam specifications(in place since September 2016), but I can also help them tackle the hurdles of translation, especially from English into Spanish.
Teaching Experience:
Over 30 years experience teaching Spanish in language schools, a Grammar school in Steyning and currently teaching in a prestigious secondary school in Barnham. Two summers teaching a dual- degree post- graduate programme for the Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania.
Private tutoring to individuals and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, including a military attaché, multiple top executives, post- graduate students and even retired students with a love for languages.
Teaching Approach:
Firstly I ask my tutee what his/her expectations are. Then , in the first couple of lessons I assess each student's strengths and identify his/her weaknesses. I suggest an action plan to meet the students needs and expectations. Students are always welcome to have an input on what they would like to do in the lessons.
Lessons can be as relaxed or as intensive as each individual prefers.

From Louis (/5): Beatriz is a fantastic teacher and a lovely person. She is very patient, and makes you feel incredibly comfortable while learning. Lessons are usually a mixture of teaching with slides and conversation, but all lessons are tailored to the student’s needs and desires. In only a short time learning Beatriz I have already learned a lot and feel I am beginning to grasp the theory of the language. I plan on having many more sessions with Beatriz (if she’ll have me!) and I am really glad to be learning Spanish with her. ¡Muchas Gracias Beatriz!

She’s very friendly, accommodating and her communication skills are excellent.
She’s also very patient and understanding which means if there is ever something i do not understand or I am unsure of then I feel more than comfortable to ask. Can’t recommend her enough!
