Personal Description:

I am Italian and I have lived in the UK for 25 years. I am passionate about languages and enjoy engaging with my students and helping them acquire the necessary skills to become a good linguist.

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced French and Spanish secondary teacher. I have also taught Italian to adults for over 10 years and to young children for several years. My area of expertise is GCSE (French and Spanish) and A level French, as I am very familiar with the syllabus and the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in exams. A level results for my classes have been consistently above national average and GCSE results have been very good and the valued added overall has always been positive.

Teaching Approach:

I believe that to be able to master a language, you need a good understanding of its structure to avoid feeling overwhelmed and confused. I therefore like to teach in a very clear and organised way, meeting the needs of each student. My teaching style allows learners of all abilities to reach their potential, as I lead them through the different steps of the learning process in a logical way. This allows them to understand the concepts and avoid confusion, which leads to demotivation and lack of self-esteem. My students generally thrive on this method of teaching, as it allows them to move away from parrot fashion learning and to be in control of their own learning. This boosts their confidence and consequently their ability to thrive.
