Personal Description:
I am a retired but active teacher who wants to carry on tutoring students and adult learners to help them gain in confidence and language acquisition.
Teaching Experience:
I have always taught in comprehensive schools and been Head of French twice in my career. I also have a working knowledge of the recent changes to the new GCSE and A level examinations. Over the last eight years I have tutored students of all ages and abilities and watched them grow in confidence.
Teaching Approach:
I prepare my lessons to suit the needs of the individual; this may be exam preparation and / or improving communication in speaking and writing. I have many resources which cover Reading and Listening skills.

From Lorraine (/5): Barbara has been very efficient and helpful in delivering one to one french tuition by skype and in person for my daughter who has taken her French GCSE with the Edexcel board this May. Barbara prepared my daughter for Units 1 & 3 of the syllabus. Barbara is a friendly, professional tutor who is organised, helpful and encourages her students to do their best. My daughter has enjoyed her sessions with Barbara, who set home work via email and provided listening tasks on a CD and via online sites. We would like to thank Barbara for her support and encouragement and strongly recommend her as a first rate french tutor!

From Jenine (/5): Barbara helped me bring up my confidence, and an improvement was quickly shown in my French through my essays etc. She bases her lessons in my area of problem, offering advice in every way possible, and was able to change lesson times when I was unable to attend any of her lessons.
