I am Dutch and have been living in the UK since I came as an au-pair at the age of 19. I have over 30 years of teaching experience, teaching Dutch, German, and English from complete Beginners to Advanced levels.
I am married to John, a retired Project Manager, and we have 3 children and 3 dogs who are keeping us busy.
For the past 5 years, I have been teaching students with specific needs to learn a new language such as Dyslexia and ADHD.

I have been teaching for over 30 years, at Colleges, Universities, In- house Company Classes, and on a one-to-one basis, teaching English, German, Dutch at recognized international qualification levels, including the Dutch NT2 exams. (Citizenship)
I teach Dutch and German from complete Beginners to Advanced level to students who want to learn the language to settle in the Netherlands or Germany. As part of my language tuition, I explain the cultural differences to make the settling-in process a smoother experience. i
I lecture modern languages at the de Montford University and tutor students to pass their entry exams at other European Universities.
I tutor pre-sessional English to foreign students (Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Arabic students) to IELTS 7.0 level to prepare them for their academic experience in the UK.
I teach KS 1-8 English and German GCSE, and ‘A’ level tuition.
I offer individual and in-company language classes in English, German and Dutch from Beginners to Advanced and Business level, including the cultural business differences in European countries. Sample customers are Landrover, BMW, Intel, Oracle, Birmingham City Council.

I am very patient and have a very hands-on approach to teaching. I believe learning a language should be fun, not a task. I like to motivate my students to use their newfound language skills by building their confidence.
I tailor my lessons to my student's needs and requirements to ensure that fast progress is made for the purpose of learning and that my lessons are fun and easy to understand.
My lessons are being taught either face to face or online by using Skype, Zoom, MS-Teams or Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.

Breaks everything down for me.
Anya has always been completely professional and very flexible to meet our demands but is always approachable and friendly.
I would highly recommend Anya as a tutor to anyone wanting to learn the Dutch language and although it wasn't me personally taking the lessons, please see the feedback from our staff members currently learning with her:
“Anya is a Dutch National who provides in depth and tailored lessons for learning Dutch. Her method is thorough and she offers on the job learning as well as assistance online via the Zune software. Whatever your requirement, whatever your budget, she can most definitely accommodate to your specific needs. I would definitely recommend signing up to her courses. (DT)”.
"Anya always delivers an organised and professional session and every week I come away feeling as though I have progressed. Her resources such as ready-made PowerPoints and programmes such as Zune mean that the lesson is flexible and can be reflected upon easily. The speaking and listening exercises really help with connecting the different aspects of language that I have learnt and help to build confidence with sentence structure and pronunciation.
I would not hesitate to recommend Anya to anyone looking for Dutch lessons in business. (OW)"
Really looking forward to learning more!
I have really specific needs as to where I need to get to with my Dutch and they were so quickly understood and catered for by Anya. This she did both in understanding and also practically by being able to find all sorts of past exam papers and sources that are very beneficial to my learning. Our lessons are quite informal, which I love, and I feel right at home enabling me to speak my Dutch relaxedly and more confidently.
Homework that is set is all totally relevant, and fun too, and is a big part of lessons. Despite that, as a busy A-Level student I have missed the odd piece (which is really bad, sorry Anya) but Anya would then work it into the lesson or find other suitable acticities to do.
All in all, lessons with Anya are really excellent and I'm a very happy student.
Now, thanks to Anya's lessons, I have passed my entrance exam of Dutch as a second language at the university of Leiden meaning that I can go on to study courses in Dutch! Thank you Anya!
