Personal Description:
Hola! I am a native Spanish speaker who was born and raised in Chile, South America, and who, for the past five years has been living in the UK. I am currently in my third year of BSc Psychology at the University of Exeter. Having lived both in a Spanish and English speaking country I can relate well to both cultures and understand both languages well .
Teaching Experience:
When at Sixth Form College I was asked by the Spanish teacher to teach a few AS and A2 lessons and to support the students on a one-to-one tutorial. Also, I have helped with instant translation when abroad.
Teaching Approach:
The way I teach is very learner focused. That means that I adjust my lessons depending on the needs of the learner. Having said that, I believe that a speaking- listening approach is more effective as it helps the learner to get immersed in the language more quickly. That does not mean, though, that I am not open to a more "pen and paper" method. I have often encountered that a mixture of both is the best.
