Personal Description:

Hello, I'm Annette. I've been a French teacher and tutor for more than 25 years and I've taught people of all ages and all levels of ability, from absolute beginners to undergraduates. I also teach French for business. I am passionate about the French language and culture, having lived and worked in France for a number of years. I specialise in coaching for GCSE, A-Level and International Baccalaureate, covering all the exam boards including Edexcel, AQA and OCR. As well as targeting the specifics of the language that are crucial in order for students to get the best results, I also school them in exam technique which is why my students achieve the highest grades. All my lessons, which for the most part I design myself, are tailor made to students' individual needs.

I'm highly qualified. As well as having a 2.1 Bachelor of Arts degree in French, I studied with the Institute of Linguists for three years, and I've lived and worked in France. I'm also CRB/DBS cleared for your peace of mind. I love what I do. It gives me the greatest satisfaction to see my students succeed, whether they need French for their studies, for business or purely for pleasure.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching french privately for nearly 30 years and have previously worked as a teacher at sixth form colleges. Teaching Approach:

My tailor-made lessons are designed to immerse the student in the language by developing all aspects of your ability in the language – reading, writing, speaking, listening - in tandem, so that the language is learned as organically s possible. That said, I am of course happy to focus on a particular skill, if the student feels they require this.
