Personal Description:
Hi,
I am a French native speaker born in South-east France near Cannes. I have been living in England for well over 15 years now.
For the past 17 years, I have been teaching French both to adults (beginners to advanced level) and to a younger public ranging from baby and toddler groups to A-level students!
Teaching Experience:
I teach adults and secondary school students around the Epsom and Ewell area who attend schools such as Ewell Castle, Epsom College, Blenheim, Glyn, Roseberry, Tiffin's Girls, The London Oratory School, Kingston Grammar, Hollyfield, Nonsuch for Girls, Coombe Girls, Cheam High… But since I have been teaching online I have taught children attending schools all over the UK but also abroad such as Dubai College or the British International School in Riyadh.
Some of my older students have either previous knowledge of the language or none at all. Many come to me in preparation of their holidays to France. Some adults I've had across the years came to me because they bought a house in France and needed sufficient command of the language to be able to settle there. Others even got married to French women and wanted to learn the language of their other halves! There can be many reasons to start (or start again) language lessons as an adult but mostly the aim is pleasure and fun… no exam preparation there!!
I also teach professionals in the domain of bank and finance who need a high level of Business French. I also help with preparing and rehearsing professional presentations as of when needed.
Teaching Approach:
Secondary school students should be taught both grammar structures and vocabulary in a structured way in preparation for their exams. I have experience with all exam boards and will tailor my lesson to the needs of the students: does he/she need help with grammar and the all-so-confusing past tenses? Or is it translation skills your child needs help with? Whatever your child needs, rest assure that he/she is not alone and in the past 17 years I am bound to have taught that particular skill before.
Otherwise, I'll adapt my lessons to what the parents are expecting from me (whether the child's parents are French and would like their child to discover French literature for example).
For adults: there again it all depends what you expect from those lessons. Do you already have some prior knowledge of the language or not? Do you have some specific objectives like buying a house in France or spending your holidays there? I'll adapt to your needs. We may most likely concentrate on vocabulary and situations and include grammar in as we go along. But again, I will teach you the way YOU want to learn.

When I asked my daughter, what she thought about Anne, she told me that she makes lessons fun as well as challenging. Anne puts a lot of effort into each lesson and always pushes you to be better.
By choosing Anne, I have given my daughter the best chance of reaching her goals for French.
Anne
