Personal Description:

Hey! I am Angeliki, I live in London and I am currently working as a Project delivery and Policy officer in UK Government’s Department for Education. In addition to my government role, I have a fulfilling side career as a Greek language tutor, where I teach Greek as a second language.
To begin with, I studied Greek Philology (BA) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where I acquired linguistic specialisation in Classics and Modern Greek language as well as pedagogical competence. During this time, I specialized in Classics and Modern Greek language and gained valuable pedagogical skills. I continued my academic pursuit by earning a Master’s degree in Education, Public Policy, and Equity at the University of Glasgow. This program broadened my knowledge, particularly in policy analysis and design, allowing me to address contemporary challenges in education policies.
I have also completed two Supplementary Distance Education Programmes (E-Learning) of the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on Intercultural Education and on Present Special Education and Training. Currently, I am
enrolled in a certified seminar at Panteion University of Athens, where I am studying the teaching of
the Greek language as a second foreign language, starting from September 2023.

Teaching Experience:

With over a decade of experience as a Greek Language Tutor, I have taught Greek as a second language in various educational settings, including Greece, the UK, the USA, and more. My students
have ranged from children to adults, and I have both private tutoring and virtual classroom teaching
experience. Notably, I worked as a Greek language teacher at the Maliotis Cultural Center,specializing in teaching Greek as a second language. Additionally, during the 2022-2023 academic year, I served as a Greek language teacher at one of the Greek schools in London.
My commitment to education extends beyond conventional classrooms. I have actively participated as a volunteer in an international network of volunteer communities in Glasgow. In this capacity, I dedicated my time to teaching Greek as a foreign language to adults, emphasizing the
importance of language acquisition as a tool for cultural integration and enrichment.
Furthermore, I volunteered in a program titled "Teaching the Greek Language to Refugees and
Migrants" at the Social Service of Y.M.C.A. This initiative exemplifies my dedication to leveraging
education as a means of empowerment and inclusion.

Teaching Approach:

At the core of my teaching philosophy lies a student-centered approach, founded on interactive
collaboration and communication between student and teacher. My pedagogical methodology is
meticulously structured, encompassing tailored learning materials that respond to the unique needs of
each student. These materials encompass grammar, vocabulary, reading, and listening exercises,
culminating in a holistic and personalized learning experience.
I am dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the creation of inclusive educational environments that
empower individuals to reach their full potential.
