Hiya, i am Angela. I live in Glasgow City Centre with my family. I am a native Chinese speaker who teaches English and Chinese Mandarin (standard) language. I am born in Beijing with the most native and standard Mandarin. I teach all aspects and levels of the language. This includes pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking and listening, expressions and phrases. I can teach Chinese history and literature and classic Chinese as well.
I obtained my graduation certificate with Bachelor Degree majoring in English after 4 year's study. I am a qualified teacher in college and university in language department in China. I am a native mandarin speaker and I am professional in teaching skills and methods which may greatly help you mastering mandarin as well and fast as possible. If you are frustrated by these Chinese words and pronunciation or some rules else, don't worry, I will make them easier and interesting for you to understand and master. I have 7 years working experience being a Mandarin tutor. My students are from all level, from the basic level to the advanced level. I also provide lessons for secondary students who are doing Chinese SQA or SHK. I have been working with many students who learn Chinese as a foreign language and all of them have achieved "A" in their intermediate / higher even Advanced Chinese in their SQA exams. I am willing to provide Mandarin Textbook or teaching materials together with some homework assigned ( if you 'd like to in order to have a better progress) for you to have a systematic learning. If you are looking for professional private tuition please email me and I can assess your current level and take it from there. I also accommodate for group lessons.
As a Chinese language teacher I believe I am not just teaching a language, but also introducing Chinese culture to students. My teaching is never only based on textbooks. I like to integrate topics from world news and TV, and mixed with Chinese films and music. In my teaching experience, I have found that most UK students feel Chinese pronunciation the most difficult and the grammar can be confusing. Therefore in my teaching I make special efforts on explaining the varied language senses/logics between English and Chinese. I often draw examples from both languages and compare them.
