Personal Description:

Hi, I’m Anabel!

I am a Spanish native with a Qualified Teacher Status, friendly and fun experienced Spanish teacher, passionate about languages, fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan. My enthusiasm and passion for other cultures and seeing students gain confidence in speaking Spanish or Catalan is what I aim to do right from the very first lesson. I cover all aspects of language learning and focus on your individual needs to ensure you make great progress.

Achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Language and Literature, a Master’s Degree as Professor of Spanish and Catalan and a PGCE has aided me with the sufficient knowledge to teach students and help them build confidence, accuracy and fluency from the very first lesson!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Spanish to foreign students at the University of Exeter for over 2 years, Primary and High Schools and, currently, I am teaching Spanish at the Adult Learning Center of my town. Also, from 2015 I have been teaching Spanish or Catalan as a private tutor, one to one, couples or small groups.

I can also prepare you for different objectives, Year 1, 2, 3 (always following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, so official levels), conversation, GCSE exams, A-Level, DELE exams in which I am an official examiner, or for travelers and professionals alike.

I also have experience working with children and helping them with homework, so I can support them with their Spanish studies at the KS3 and KS4, or if they simply want to learn a new language.

Teaching Approach:

I had and have many students that in four months starting from zero, were able to have basic conversations, they could understand and be understood, that at the end is the main goal for many people. The best about private tuitions is that you learn a lot quicker than in a normal course, the focus is in you, and you do not have to share the hour with other people. I accept mini lessons of 30 minutes, for people that considers that an hour is too much, and also, I accept groups, same cost per hour (divided by the number of people in a lesson).
