But she was patient, thoughtful, tried to destress me and overall, a very kind and generous person.
I would highly recommend her as a tutor.
She is always encouraging, everything is clear and, after several lessons, I feel I have learned quite a lot! Amira is always ready and willing to offer extra help if it’s wanted via recordings. I had one lesson in which I was tired, and not able to concentrate so well - Amira was kind, patient and understanding, which I really appreciated; the following week I was back on track!
I would highly recommend Amira
I would recommend her to anyone looking to start out learning basic Arabic.
Learning with lessons through Skype is also very convenient. After trying to learn by myself before and giving up on that, I can assure you that the language doesn't seem half as difficult to learn and understand with these lessons. One of my favourite things is that Arabic is taught as a language per se, in context but not as a channel to religion, as I have experienced before with some language books, so I am free to ask if I want and learn just as much as I like.
I was looking for an Arabic tutor to ultimately support me in my lifelong goal of reading the Quran well in Arabic. I had tried over many years and struggled to secure a tutor that could provide this 1 to 1 tuition in person. I had never really considered Skype and whilst scouring the net for a tutor, I stumbled across First Tutors. I read the profiles of tutors and was drawn to yours due to the qualifications and experience you had. After making initial contact, you were very quick to respond and maintained communication which was key. We quickly established sound working practices, establishing how we would communicate before, during and in between sessions. You have an extremely professional, yet relaxed way of tutoring. You are punctual and reliable and where either of us has needed to look at rescheduling, we have communicated well to do this. The pace of our sessions has been well matched to my abilities I feel, offering further clarification where it has been needed or to satisfy my curiosity ;). Homework is regular and manageable and a good system established to send through this work ahead of, or at the start of sessions. When learning I think it's important to make it fun and relaxed, which you also do. It's very clear during our sessions how learned and experienced you are and bringing this wealth of knowledge to the sessions has bred a deep seated respect for you and confidence in your abilities to help me achieve my ultimate goal.
Best wishes

I am interested in learning the culture as well as the language; she has been able to give a detailed insight into this, which I feel I would struggle to find online. Amira is very calm and patient which helps the learner feel at ease during lessons. She is contactable outside of class if the learner has any questions. I am very pleased with my progress and I wish to continue with my studies for the next 2-4 years before moving to the middle east for work.

She makes sure the lesson is suited to your ability and sends you all the materials beforehand.
She also tries to make learning Arabic enjoyable by suggesting all sorts of ways to get immersed into the language such as listening to old and new songs.
I would recommend her as a tutor because she's super helpful, organised and ensures that each lesson is suited to your learning needs.
She is very considerate of the students particular needs, weaknesses and strengths and flexibly plans each lesson accordingly. I feel very fortunate and would *strongly* recommend Amira for anyone wishing to learn arabic in the future.
